The 137,000 sf Product Innovation and Creativity Center, housing the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. is a landmark facility that facilitates multidisciplinary, problem-based student teaming.
The PICC facility includes an interactive conceptualization space with conference facilities, electronic sketch pad, and electronic vendor databases; computer-based design studios, virtual manufacturing and rapid prototyping facilities, and at least 20 work cells, which are a combination home base for team meetings, storage, and project documentation for developing products. Equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia equipment including teleconferencing, industry mentors interactively collaborate from their own workplace.
