Description
With its gateway campus location, the Strom Thurmond Wellness & Fitness Center is a flagship symbol for the University of South Carolina. The two main floors and mezzanine encompass a full range of recreational facilities for students and faculty including racquetball and squash courts, an indoor pool, a four-court gymnasium and an auxiliary gym that also functions as a performance venue for campus-wide events. Outside a pool and leisure area complement the building’s interior activity spaces. Occupying an urban park environment, pedestrian bridges and elevated walkways provide safe passage for students to and from adjacent parking and housing facilities.
