Description
Located in the heart of the Glendale Civic Center, the 163,000 sf police operations center and parking structure optimize public services. The ground floor is dedicated to public functions, while the upper three floors house patrol and investigation services, a crime lab, a 911-call dispatch center, locker, support administrative facilities, as well as a 48-cell jail with booking and holding facilities. A two-story atrium admits natural light into the center of the office area, visually linking the floors and creating an informal gathering area. Exterior materials, passive solar elements, and building systems maximize energy conservation. An entry plaza provides a transition from street to lobby, opening directly to the community rooms for special events.
