Description
Ursinus College retained Cannon Design to replace its outdated sports and recreation facilities and dramatically transform the image of an existing sports facility to meet growing student athletic and recreational demands. A new entrance and a glass-enclosed weight/fitness rotunda screen the front of the existing building, showcasing the activities within and serving as a beacon for arriving visitors. Other components include aerobic and dance, sports medicine, free weights, trophy hall, climbing wall, and a lobby. A new field house occupying a prominent site on the campus’s edge, is linked to the existing facility and includes a 200-meter indoor track, multi-use court spaces, and floor-to-ceiling glass walls providing views of the rolling Pennsylvania landscape and beyond.
