Recently nominated for the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture, Sabanci University is an entirely new institution that aspires to be ranked among the most technologically advanced in the world. Rich in the forms and materials of a design vocabulary consistent with Turkey’s greatest cultural treasures, this residential campus is organized as three distinct zones: an academic core, a sports ands recreation zone, and a residential village – a total of 28 buildings totaling 1.8 million square feet on a 240-acre site.
A 300,000 volume library is the symbolic center of the campus, adjacent to the university center, the hub of campus life; a business school; administrative building, performing arts and athletic centers.
