Description
This subterranean station beneath Hollywood Boulevard and adjacent to such famous landmarks as Mann’s Chinese Theater, is an important stop on the new city transit system. Each station along the route not only provides a memorable experience but also aids passengers with orientation, embodying characteristics of its surrounding neighborhood. Inspired by the fantasy of Hollywood and the “transitory” nature of stage sets – as passengers descend into the station, they are greeted by an elaborate display of images projected from theatrical light fixtures mounted on a brightly colored truss – suggesting the temporary lighting platforms used in film production.
