An Ideas Based Practice

Episcopal High School

Centennial Gymnasium Addition

Alexandria, VA

Description

A $25 million initiative to improve the athletic facilities of Episcopal High School, one of the nation’s most prestigious private boarding schools, includes a 60,000 sf addition to Centennial Gymnasium, which originally opened in 1939 and is one of several traditional brick structures on the scenic academic campus. The addition triples the size of the existing facility with a two-court auxiliary gymnasium, a fitness center, a team meeting room, boys’ and girls’ locker rooms, and a hall of fame area with an exhibit display. The project also encompasses renovation of Centennial Gymnasium’s ground level, including the visitors’ locker room, training spaces, and equipment storage; and conceptual design for a new field house and football locker rooms.
