Description
10 Buick Street, an 817-bed high-rise with a Z-shaped plan, is the first of four new residence halls that will ultimately house 2,500 students within Boston University’s John Hancock Student Village. The building mass is articulated as three towers of 15 and 18 floors above a nine-floor base. Visitors enter through a two-story lobby that opens to elevator cores, dining facilities, retail areas, and student activity spaces.
Residential floors are arranged to take maximum advantage of the riverfront site, giving 70 percent of the housing units unobstructed river views. Each apartment has projecting living/dining rooms with window walls on two sides. A penthouse multipurpose room offering a spectacular view of the Charles River and the Boston skyline is available for resident use during the school term and supports campuswide seminar and meeting functions during school breaks.
