33 Harry Agganis Way

Boston, MA

Description

33 Harry Agganis Way, a 396,000 sf high-rise at the northwest corner of Boston University’s John Hancock Student Village, capitalizes upon stunning views matched only by high-end Boston condos. Two towers of 19 and 26 stories share a common core and entry and provide 962 beds in a variety of suite styles. Although LEED certification was not a formal project goal, numerous sustainable principles and technologies are incorporated into the building’s infrastructure and design, including a building envelope with a state-of-the-art rainscreen system that both minimizes heat loss and extends the life of the exterior by protecting it from water. When the building has been occupied for one year, it will be the largest EPA Energy Star-rated residence hall in the country. Regarded as a beacon of campus sustainability, 33 Harry Agganis Way is featured prominently in marketing collateral as a prime example of the university’s sustainable construction practices.
