This 160,000 sf addition to Myrtle Beach’s aging convention center – advanced by Cannon Design’s winning entry in a national competition – triples the size of the existing facility. New landscaping, including a formal front court with reflecting pool, adds appeal, while two distinctive cylindrical glass towers act as beacons anchoring the dramatic, sloping glass entry facade. The column-free exhibit hall can be subdivided into three spaces and six different configurations, each served by separate public and service entries. A glass-enclosed atrium lobby accommodates such prefunction activities as reception, registration, and gallery exhibits.
