Description
Occupying 240,000 sf on four floors of a major skyscraper – spanning the width and breadth of New York’s Penn Station – this headquarters for an international software company supports a staff of over 1,000. Unique program elements enhance the operational reorganization of business units, common areas, and support spaces. The elevator lobby is a sweeping arc articulated by an alternating floor pattern and raised ceiling, where perforated-metal awnings conceal electric-blue accent lights. The reception/waiting area features a partial-height, serpentine perforated-metal wall, an open wire-grid ceiling with concealed track lighting, and interactive computer terminals adjacent to a “blue box” demonstration room, a showcase for educating and training IBI clients.
