Description
The replacement facility for St. James Hospital delivers flexible, functional, departmentally seamless, and patient-friendly healthcare to a rural community while promoting opportunities for staff to network with other OSF Healthcare System resources, hospitals, and physicians. Designed as a single structure integrating a 96,500 sf hospital component with a 45,000 sf medical office building, the new 48-bed hospital is organized around services rather than departmental groupings. To prevent duplication of services, opportunities to share resources between the hospital and office components are maximized.
