An Ideas Based Practice

California State University, Channel Islands

Student Housing Complex Phase 3

Camarillo, CA

Description

California State University (CSU) Channel Islands, is the newest member of the CSU system. To sustain its rapid growth, CSU commissioned a master plan to provide programming and conceptual design services for Santa Rosa Village, the third phase of student housing on campus, and the second phase of expansion of the dining commons.

Combining new construction and renovation, the project will maintain the Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival style of existing campus architecture. Santa Rosa Village will add 300 to 500 beds to the campus. The dining commons expansion will provide new food preparation and dining facilities. Both facilities will incorporate universal design to the greatest extent possible, with resolution of all level changes, access to all spaces and accessible units.
