Providing state-of-the-art flexible laboratory spaces for teaching and research in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics, the CSTMENJ integrates modern technology with innovative teaching methods. Occupying a key location along a major thoroughfare, the 105,000 sf building is an architectural focal point uniting Kean University’s east and west campuses. The building is organized as an open “flexible laboratory,” combining a seated classroom with standard wet-laboratory facilities to facilitate group discussion and collaboration and accommodate the introduction of future curricular and technological changes with minimal downtime. The Center also includes an auditorium, lecture halls, student lounges, and small study areas to foster collaboration among students.
