The University of Washington (UW) in Seattle, one of the world’s preeminent public universities, and CannonDesign are working together to develop the Predesign Study for the new Center for Advanced Materials and Clean Energy Technologies. Advancing the UW’s leadership role in clean technologies, the building will be an ecosystem for catalyzing multi-disciplinary solutions to the greatest environmental challenges facing our planet.
The Center for Advanced Materials and Clean Energy Technology will be a hub for learning, researching, prototyping and driving clean technology ideas to market. CannonDesign’s strategic leadership and design-prototyping process are re-defining the conventional DNA of a building to support foundational science and engineering in partnership with marketplace demands for devices, technology and the next-generation workforce. Cannon’s design team is leading the UW’s project leaders, students, faculty and external partners to create this unique facility. Together, we are developing a unique DNA through highly intense workshops with the diverse clean tech community. In addition to assisting on facility definition, CannonDesign is working with university leaders to address facility governance, operations and site location on one of America’s most scenic campuses.
