We believe the latest learning environments prepare students for the future but also galvanize and connect learners, resources, ideas, conversation and expertise through space and time.
Pre K-8 school design must nurture environments that support new learning cultures. We focus as much on the physical spaces as we do the individual experiences. By organizing buildings that are sensitive to important transitions students make – from primary, to intermediate, to middle school – we are able to permeate a sense of home to the learning environments. Learning communities organized by grade levels provide environments for students and teachers to work as teams and learn from one another. To bring programming to life, we consider the behaviors alongside the user needs creating unexpected spatial solutions. Design results unite educational needs, site opportunities, building systems, budget, schedules and constructability issues.
