Ken describes himself as a “curious fellow,” which perfectly defines his approach to developing creative solutions that have spanned his distinguished career. Above all, Ken is a placemaker who conceives, refines and implements innovative, Living-Centered Design solutions for clients.
Ken has a substantial record of creating award-winning places that solve serious environmental, technological, functional and contextual challenges—from LEED Platinum buildings in diverse climates and the first precast concrete dome ever constructed, to a university cooling system that uses temperature differentials embodied in a public grey water system and the largest wood roof ever built. His design of the Richmond Oval—the speed skating venue for the Vancouver Olympic Games—defined a new paradigm of Olympic buildings that lives on to this day.
