With a career than has spanned 35 years, John R. Boekelman, PE, AIA, LEED AP, serves as Senior Structural Engineer for the firm, with project responsibilities that encompass virtually every aspect of the design process. As both a registered architect and a licensed professional engineer, he is able to provide clients unique expertise regarding structural engineering and design issues. His experience includes buildings of many types—from high- and low-rise office buildings, healthcare and educational facilities—to athletic facilities and major mixed-use developments that incorporate hotel, office, retail, and parking components.
His portfolio of work includes projects throughout the United States and Canada, as well as the Middle East and Far East. These include Boston University’s Fitness and Recreation Center and Agganis Arena; The Montante Cultural Center at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY; State University of New York at Albany’s Center for Environmental Sciences and Technology Management and the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center in Washington, DC.
Current assignments for the firm include Simmons College, School of Management and Academic Building in Boston, MA, and the Global Vascular Institute of Kaleida Health in Buffalo, NY.
Licensed in 23 states, Boekelman holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois, Urbana, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University.
