Abbie Clary Named to Crain's Chicago Notable Women in Construction & Design

Abbie’s ability to see the unique possibilities within each design challenge landed her a spot on the 2021 list of honorees.

The prestigious list recognizes women shaping high-profile construction and design projects in Chicago and nationally. It seeks to highlight innovative leaders, changemakers, and women committed to new ideas, challenging status quo and mentoring future leaders.

Some of the accomplishments that earned Abbie a spot on the Crain’s list include:

  • Being responsible for overseeing more than $2.5 billion in healthcare projects over her career.
  • Leading healthcare projects for local organizations such as Rush University Medical Center, Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, Focal Point, UIC and UCHealth, in addition to leading projects with health systems across the globe.
  • Authoring numerous articles on the future of health for publications ranging from Healthcare Design to Chicago Hospital News and Becker’s Hospital Review.
  • Working on projects that can influence the most pressing societal challenges: breaking down the social determinants of health, helping people regain abilities after traumatic injuries, and pushing health systems to completely upend their approaches to capital project delivery to keep pace with change

Abbie has recently been featured on the Design Lab podcast with Bon Ku and interview on the live TV streaming service ChedHER, talking about healthcare design, women in architecture and more.
