Prithi Pendharkar Joins CannonDesign as Leader in Mumbai Office

Prithi Pendharkar has rejoined CannonDesign as an associate vice president and the business practice leader of our Mumbai office.

In this role, Prithi will leverage her more than 18 years of industry experience to manage the operations and business functions of our 35-person office in Mumbai. Working closely with leadership across the firm, she’ll also foster new client relationships, mentor employees and increase brand recognition across India.

Prithi was a key member of our Mumbai office from 2012-2014, working on projects ranging from Tata Medical Center in Kolkata to the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal in Montreal. She then stepped into a role with Perkins Eastman where she spearheaded key efforts related to healthcare and education projects across Asia.

“I’ve always admired CannonDesign and its commitment to using design to improve the conditions of people,” said Prithi. “I’m excited to be back in this new role and I look forward to working with my colleagues across the globe to help organizations and communities achieve their goals for growth and impact.”

Prithi’s background spans programming, planning and execution for a range of complex, large-scale project types in the healthcare, higher education, K-12 and research sectors. Her recent work includes three All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) campuses in India; Dallah Al Arid Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; American International School in Dhaka, Bangladesh; Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Campus in Dubai; Ashoka University in Haryana, India; and numerous others.

Recognized as a thought leader in her field, Prithi recently discussed the future of education design at the Bombay Cambridge International Group’s Annual School Leaders Convention. She also recently participated in a panel discussion on a similar topic—“Designing 21st Century Learning Spaces”—hosted by New Millennium Education Partners in Mumbai. She received her Master of Architecture with a specialization in healthcare facility planning and design from Texas A&M University’s healthcare architecture program and practiced in the U.S. from 2003 to 2010 before moving to Mumbai.
