The exciting “first-of-its-kind” health center features innovative learning spaces, a workforce center, extensive virtual training resources, and a clinic offering primary care, rehabilitation medicine, nutrition, nursing, pharmacy and more. All at once, the building improves community access to healthcare services, introduces educational opportunities focused on breaking the cycle of chronic illness, prepares a new workforce to seize in-demand healthcare jobs, and supports a living-wage ecosystem for Buffalo’s West Side residents.
“The Health Professions Hub has been a dream project for our team,” said our Michael Tunkey Principal and Design Leader for the Hub. “It is beautiful architecture that positively nourishes its community, changes lives for the better and reshapes our city to be more equitable, healthy and vibrant. We are beyond grateful to D’Youville for this incredible opportunity and congratulate them on the project’s official opening.”
D’Youville President Lorrie Clemo said in an announcement, “We are thrilled to officially open our Health Professions Hub, which is a new high-tech facility integrating education, healthcare and community partnerships. This is a true community asset.”
To commemorate the grand opening, D’Youville invited community members and local officials to be part of the event. They also had high-wire artist Nik Wallenda on hand. Local media covered the building’s opening extensively including The Buffalo News, Buffalo Business First and WBFO among others.
“The Hub is a game-changer for D’Youville and Buffalo’s West Side,” added Luke Johnson, Design Leader on the project. “It has been a joy to help make this building a reality and it will be even more rewarding to watch its impact grow and grow in the years ahead.”
Congratulations to D’Youville College on this proud moment. Here are several photos our team took from the grand opening event.
