Our Andy VanMater is set to play a key role in the 2018 Advancing Computational Building Design conference in New York City on July 24. The conference is focused on helping people advance computational teams in their companies, leverage cutting edge applications in design optimization and task automation, explore the role of computation in data management solutions and machine learning and share tools and incorporate workflows to increase productivity and efficacy.
Andy will lead a workshop on Optimizing Your Technology Strategy with Computation Software on Monday, July 23 and take part in a panel discussion on Benchmarking Ways Computation Fits into the Project Workflow a day later.
Full details for Andy’s workshop and panel discussion are below and on the conference website.
Workshop: Optimizing Your Technology Strategy with Computation Software
The choice of computational design software and tools remain relatively small, however their powers are huge. This workshop will focus on enhancing the ways in which you employ computational software with practical demonstrations of how to make the most out of the capabilities of programs such as Grasshopper and Dynamo. It will look at solutions for difficult data transferal between software and will discuss which programs are the most applicable to particular datasets. Finally, it will explain the different level of skills needed to use the software and tools to help get your entire team on board.
Panel: Benchmarking Ways Computation Fits into the Project Workflow
Synopsis: Exploring how computational design is being integrated into workflows to expedite the full design process and discussion around the set-up of workflows between architects and engineers to incorporate their different targets.
