Leaders from our sports and recreation practice are set to deliver two presentations at Athletic Business 2017, one of the leading international sports conferences bringing together thousands of athletic, fitness and recreation professionals from around the world to share best practices, strategies and ideas for the future. Our team’s presentations include:
- Reed Voorhees and Karl Leabo will present, “Penny Wise and Pound Foolish: Understanding the Importance and Value of a Feasibility Study,” on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 10:15 a.m. The session will provide a thorough overview of the feasibility study process, including establishing expectations, determining participants and outlining the project duration. The seminar will offer a look at how feasibility studies can best be executed to ensure every athletics project gets off to the right start.
- Colleen McKenna and Karl Leabo will present, “Old Rivalries, New Partnerships – Making the Most of Shared Use Facilities,” on Friday, Nov. 10 at 8 a.m. This presentation will reveal best practices for colleges and universities seeking to develop facilities that combine athletics, recreation, wellness, academics and student life together in “fusion” facilities. Specifically, the session will examine the planning, design and operational implications of linking diverse activities and user groups in one facility.
