CannonDesign thought leaders will showcase our health expertise with numerous presentations at this year’s Healthcare Design Expo and Conference (HCD). The four-day event – devoted to healthcare environments and their impact on safety, operation, clinical outcomes, and financial success of healthcare facilities now and into the future – will include four educational sessions featuring CannonDesigners.
Sunday, November 12th
At 9:30 AM, Greg Heiser, along with partners from Bay Area Medical Center and the Boldt Company, will present “Listening to the Customer: Where’s the Coffee?” Greg and team will highlight how project stakeholders defined their customer-driven vision to identify elements that were most important to patients and their families while outlining key performance indicators (KPIs) to make bay Area Medical Center a destination of choice.
At 3 PM, leaders from the MetroHealth System and CBLH Design will join Diane Tate-Whatley to present “Beyond Ebola: Designing a Premier Special Disease Care Unit.” The presentation will focus on how the design MetroHealth’s highly advanced Ebola treatment center – one of the most highly advanced in the U.S. – improves process and flow as recommended by the new Centers for Disease Control guidelines.
Also taking place at 3 PM, Joan Suchomel along with leaders from the Christ Hospital Health Network will present “Away from the Nurses’ Station and toward the Point of Care: The Influence of the Decentralized Unit.” The session will share findings from staff surveys that not only examine the role of a decentralized nursing unit on patterns of team communication, but also the impact on length of stay, patient and staff satisfaction, and other factors.
Monday, November 13th
Jocelyn Stroupe and Brian McKenna will lead “Uncharted Waters: Critical Access 30 Miles at Sea” at 3:15 PM. The presentation will highlight how Nantucket Cottage Hospital is transforming the patient experience and increasing access to providers in a new facility that honors the architectural heritage of Nantucket, reflects the quality medical care provided, and overcomes the unique financial and construction constraints the health system faced.
