The leader of our Los Angeles health practice, Carlos Amato, and the director of the Yazdani Studio of CannonDesign, Mehrdad Yazdani, will present at the Healthcare Facilities Design Summit in San Antonio, Texas on December 4th. Their presentation, titled “Converging Research & Clinical Care: Designing for the Future,” will highlight our award-winning design of UC San Diego Health’s Jacobs Medical Center.
The Healthcare Facilities Design Summit is devoted to exploring healthcare design’s evolution, while addressing pertinent issues in the design and construction process of hospital and health systems. This invitation-only summit brings industry leaders together to discuss the challenges and solutions involved in the design and construction stages while utilizing new delivery methods to create more efficient facilities.
The session will provide attendees with an in-depth analysis of how the project helped position UCSD both locally and nationally, to create a new identity for the health campus and focus on delivering modern medicine to meet the needs of their patients. Together, Carlos and Mehrdad will outline the transformative process created by UCSD Health to deliver the project, including: team selection and diversity; realization and creation of space; and the collaborative design and construction process.
