We are proud to announce Healthcare Design magazine has named CannonDesign its Outstanding Organization of 2019.

According to Healthcare Design, “CannonDesign has had an incredible year.” Our firm has experienced tremendous growth as we’ve expanded our services, brought on new talent and spurred new levels of innovation—all aimed at strengthening our ability to solve the most pressing health and wellness challenges.

Here's just a few highlights from the past year.

We merged with three companies.

Our FKP merger helped us create our Whole Child, Every Child initiative, which harnesses design thinking to address the key areas influencing children’s health outcomes: children’s development, safety, activity, access, socialization, experience, nature and community. Our merger with Blue Cottage exponentially grew our healthcare consulting capabilities. And welcoming gkkworks to our firm expanded our presence in California and strengthened our integrated design services.

Fast Company names us one of the most innovative companies in the world x2.

Fast Company recognized CannonDesign as one of the most innovative companies in the world for the second time in the last three years. Additionally, Fast Company recognized us as one of just nine world changing companies of the year finalists, and our work with VCU Medical Center’s Virginia Treatment Center for Children—one of the largest stand-alone centers dedicated to children’s mental health—earned finalist honors in Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas program.

Prioritizing mental health design

In addition to prioritizing children’s health, we are using design to address America’s mental healthcare challenges and have established the largest dedicated behavioral health studio in the industry. The studio worked on some of the most significant mental health projects in the country, including Sheppard Pratt’s new hospital campus.
