Healthcare Design has published Mike Pukszta’s new blog post titled, “Finding Certainty in Uncertain Times.” The piece acknowledges there are a lot of unknowns about what healthcare will look like in the future under President Trump but then identifies three key ways we know the industry (and capital development within it) will change in the years ahead. The article highlights recent CannonDesign work and ideas health organizations can anchor around in the uncertain times ahead.
The new Healthcare Design piece can be read online. Here’s a brief excerpt on patient experience.
“With a growing body of evidence-based research about the role design plays in healthcare experiences and outcomes, organizations are looking to give patients the ability to control their own personal experiences. UC San Diego Health’s new Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla, CA, which opened in Nov. 2016, is equipped with iPads that can be operated from the bed, empowering the patient to customize their environment by controlling window shades and temperature, ordering meals and controlling an in-room Apple TV.”
