Jeff Murray, FAIA, has joined CannonDesign as senior vice president and the Science & Technology leader of the Pittsburgh office. Jeff has been providing client-facing experiential and technical design leadership for complex research and laboratory environments throughout his three-decade career.

His work with corporate, government, and higher education clients includes the design of research and administrative facilities, high-performance building envelopes, renovations and additions, and smart buildings that integrate technology, sustainability, and resilience to improve occupant experience.

“What happens inside research facilities charts the path of human progress, which inspires me,” Jeff says. “Research facilities engage every design muscle; they are technically challenging and socially complex. Our research clients want to be deeply engaged in the design of their labs and that shapes our open and collaborative approach.”

The College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) recognized Jeff for his leadership and innovation in the design of research facilities for a wide spectrum of scientific disciplines. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences on the human and technical aspects of architectural design.
