A new article from Fast Company titled The Airports That Architects Want to Redesign the Most features our Mike Tunkey sharing thoughts about his vision for the future of Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Per Mike, Buffalo has one of the world’s best contemporary art museums (Albright-Knox Art Gallery), the country’s most ambitious start-up competition (43North), and a passion for eating and drinking (grab an espresso from Public Espresso and Coffee or a taco from Las Puertas next time you’re in town).

I’d love to see the Buffalo Airport infuse elements of these remarkable local institutions into the airport itself. Imagine a co-working and business incubator space with great coffee and world class art. Such a place would enrich the travel experience for visitors and potentially transform the airport to more of a destination for those who call Buffalo home.
