We’re proud to share the news that CannonDesign is again ranked in the top 10 of Modern Healthcare’s annual Design & Construction survey. This year’s report lists CannonDesign as the sixth-largest healthcare design practice based on the total construction cost of all completed projects in 2016. Given that Modern Healthcare is the No. 1 magazine in readership among healthcare executives, this strong ranking is critical for our firm as a proof point of our industry leadership.
The key to our firm earning this ranking were several breakthrough projects that opened in 2016. A few of these include:
- UC San Diego Jacobs Medical Center – A world-class destination for patient-first care, Jacobs Medical Center houses centers for women and infants, cancer care and specialty surgery. The hospital combines the highest-quality advanced care with upscale amenities, architecturally significant design and future-focused technology to usher in a new era in specialty inpatient care.
- Minnesota Health Clinics & Surgery Center – Infused with leading design ideas from commercial industries like air travel and retail, the Clinics & Surgery Center is helping M Health accommodate nearly twice as many patients with significantly less real estate than its previous facility. The building is strengthening experiences for patients and staff while also enhancing the organization’s balance sheet.
- MetroHealth Critical Care Pavilion – This 100,000 s.f. vertical expansion helps MetroHealth updated aging systems and equip itself to deliver high-quality care long into the future. Every space within the expansion was informed by feedback from stakeholders. For example, when designing the patient rooms, fully functional mockups were assembled for hospital officials, patients, and family members to experience.
