Three CannonDesigners based in our New York City Office have been selected as members of the 2018 Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation (BWAF) Emerging Leaders Program. Piloted in 2017, the BWAF Emerging Leaders program is a New York-based, selective professional development opportunity for women 5 to 10 years out of school.

“My pursuit is to implement emerging technologies into design processes. I’m currently coordinating the VR initiative in our NYC office, and taking the lead on this project is what inspired and encouraged me to be part of BWAF Emerging Leaders program. It is an incredibly exciting opportunity to learn from thought leaders’ experiences in the industry, and to have their support and encouragement. The BWAF Emerging Leaders program plays a key role in creating awareness around the need for equality in our industry, and I am honored to be a part of it.”

“I was interested in the BWAF Emerging Leaders Program because it sounded like a great resource to connect with other aspiring leaders from different firms. I also wanted to develop my soft skills and learn how to be a more well-rounded person. There’s a strong lineup of women in leadership positions who will provide workshops and seminars to the group – and I’m very excited to hear what they have to say!”

“I have been so fortunate to have a number of talented female leaders positively impact my career at CannonDesign. In participating in the Emerging Leaders Program, I look forward to sharing these experiences and building upon them to continue to forge a path for myself, my peers, and the next generation of female architects.”
