The University of Maryland has officially dedicated its recently completed indoor practice fields at Cole Field House. An exciting moment for the university, the dedication is a key milestone for the project. Cole Field House, the new home to University of Maryland (UM) football opening in 2019, will be an unrivaled multidisciplinary hub for sport, health, science, wellness and entrepreneurial education. The project converts the historic Cole Field House basketball arena in the heart of campus into an indoor football facility adjacent to the campus stadium. The new football facility is leading-edge for Division 1 and Big 10 Athletics and will help UM continue to recruit and train premier athletes that enrich the school’s longstanding history of sports excellence.
The project has received strong media coverage recently including stories in The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun and Baltimore Business Journal. ESPN anchor and University of Maryland alum Scott Van Pelt recently visited Cole Field House for the first time and his wonderful reaction is part of a video posted to the Maryland Terrapins Facebook page.
