Ellin Callahan Joins CannonDesign as Midwest Business Development Lead

We’re delighted to welcome Ellin Callahan to our Chicago office as Business Development Lead.

In her role, Ellin will drive new business, clients and opportunities in our healthcare and higher education markets throughout the Midwest. With years of experience in healthcare, education, A&E and mixed-use business development, Ellin elevates our ability to identify and develop winning relationships. She is based outside of Detroit but is dedicated to the Chicago office.

“I enjoy the unique aspects of working in healthcare and education — learning the competition, understanding client requirements, funding and strategic priorities,” Ellin shared. “I’m excited to join CannonDesign and bring my experience throughout the Midwest region to develop new client relationships. I’m looking forward to working with architects again to advance a strategy to build client-focused solutions.”

Ellin comes to CannonDesign from Barton Malow where she was the director of business development. In this position, she generated opportunities in the healthcare, higher education, and commercial markets. She consistently generated and closed on $250 million new business in revenue annually and generated and cultivated a pipeline of opportunities of over $7 billion with a win ratio of over 35 percent. Ellin also identified and developed a winning strategy for the company’s largest healthcare project award.

Outside of work, Ellin has served as a Board member for the Ace Mentor Program of SE Michigan for over 10 years. She’s passionate about ACE Mentor because it introduces the architectural, engineering and construction industry to young people. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two grown daughters.
