Assess and Deliver a Plan for the Future of a School System
One of the largest urban school systems in New York State, Buffalo Public Schools (BPS) is responsible for delivering quality education to 34,000 students annually. Such responsibility requires BPS to have a real-time, exhaustive understanding of its facility resources. The foundation for this understanding builds upon the FOS team’s comprehensive facility assessment of 65 school buildings encompassing 9 million sf of classroom, lab space, indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, as well as building envelope, code compliance and infrastructure support systems.
The information stemming from these assessments enables BPS to identify and reduce the extent of deferred maintenance, prioritize needs and develop short- and long-term capital budgets.
