Creating a Cross-Platform Paradigm for Digital Scholarship
The communications and media landscape is rapidly evolving, and MSU’s School of Communications and Media seeks to break down the silos of traditional media – print, film, broadcast and radio – to create a flexible cross-platform program that can be customized to serve specific student needs.
The expanded home for the school will re-define the digital learning experience and help launch an innovative inter-disciplinary degree program across multiple media platforms.
All-in-one fusion spaces are designed to strengthen industry partnerships, blend traditional and digital learning, and physically link and engage learning spaces. Multimedia laboratories, a “newsroom of the future,” integrated media labs, screening rooms, sound stage and post-production editing suites facilitate ambitious efforts with top media brands throughout the region with an on-campus news bureau. Creating this digital learning experience is helping launch an innovative and inter-disciplinary degree program, giving students the tools they need for industry success, which has far reaching impact.
