Creating Leaders for the Real World

Simmons College, School of Management and Academic Building, Boston, MA

Located in an urban historic and cultural district, the School of Management and Academic Building creates a vibrant campus quadrangle, creating a new center for campus life while also concealing a 700-car subterranean garage below the landscaped quad. The project consolidates all five of the college’s graduate schools into one campus location, and includes classrooms, informal collaborative study spaces, offices, a marketing suite and a floor dedicated to executive education.

The project embodies Simmons College’s commitment to a future of sustainable development.

A green roof lowers heating and cooling costs while absorbing and filtering rainwater, and the highly efficient building envelope contributes to the building’s overall energy efficiency of 38% below baseline.  The project is certified as LEED Gold. Simmons College is recognized as offering the nation’s first MBA program designed specifically for women, and is a center for innovative teaching, research and discourse on women, leadership and management.

The building is beautiful and met all of our aspirations.
