Brian Alesius, PE

Structural Engineering Leader

Brianalesius

All too often, structural components of a building hide within the finished product—steel beams behind a façade or concrete slabs underneath flooring. But for Brian and his award-winning structural engineering team, they know these hidden pieces are creating innovative, sustainable and cost-effective solutions that empower structure as a tool to achieve ambitious goals and enhance design excellence.

As the firm’s structural engineering discipline leader, Brian strives to make structural engineering a forethought in design, not an afterthought. With his vast understanding of the construction process, project delivery methods and the most cutting-edge structural systems, he has become a trusted advisor to his clients, spanning geographies, sectors and scale. He is especially proud of his team pushing for innovative embodied carbon-reduction strategies such as voided slab systems and mass timber to drastically reduce the building industry’s impact on the environment. Recently, the team became signatories of SE2050 where structural engineers pledge to achieve net zero-embodied carbon systems by 2050.
