Matt Dates, PE

Buffalo/Pittsburgh Business Practice Leader

Matt Dates

In the design industry, it takes a special kind of person to be able to strike the right balance between business details and creativity. Matt is one of those people. Educated as both an architect and engineer, he leads the business practices for our Buffalo and Pittsburgh offices—fostering a culture of creativity while leveraging our resources, practices and staff at their highest potential.

Matt is committed to providing the best possible solutions for everyone—from the clients he serves to his team members, to his own family (he’s a DIY home renovation guru). He’s led a wide variety of projects as a structural engineer and project manager, maximizing design excellence while managing complex schedules and budgetary constraints. A committed mentor and educator, he served as an adjunct professor at the University at Buffalo for seven years and was recognized with the Gary Day Outstanding Professor award for his contributions to the School of Architecture.
