Brian R. Klipp, FAIAPrincipal
Founded 34 years ago by Brian, the design firm klipp — one of the most respected architectural firms in the Rocky Mountain Region — is now part of CannonDesign. Today, Brian is one of the lead principals in our Denver office, overseeing the hospitality sector and engaged with municipal/civic and commercial commissions. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a past Colorado Architect of the Year. Recognized as one of Denver’s leading architects, over the past four decades, he has led some of Denver’s most notable urban and civic projects, including the Denver Central Library (in association with Michael Graves), the Denver Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse, The Denver Museum of Nature and Science Morgridge Family Exploration Center, and the Denver Regency Hyatt Convention Center Hotel. Additional recent projects include the University of Colorado at Boulder Sustainability Energy Environmental Lab, the Halcyon Hotel and the Jacquard Hotel.
Brian is particularly skilled in guiding diverse groups to reach consensus within the public and private arena. His civic involvement has extended into his lengthy volunteer work over the past two decades, including 16 years as a member of the Downtown Denver Partnership Denver Civic Ventures Board. Brian has worked closely with past and present Denver mayors serving as chair or participant on multiple downtown urban committees. He currently serves on the Cherry Creek North Design Advisory Board and as an advisor to the East Central Plan Steering Committee.
We owe our clients the relentless pursuit of excellence and individualized solutions embedded within each project we design. We must be good listeners and collaborators, but also doubters of convention to discover the unique opportunities inherent within each project.
