Craig Mutter, AIA, LEED AP BD+CDesign Principal
An architect, writer, and lecturer, Craig Mutter is a design leader with nearly 30 years’ experience practicing architecture in New England and beyond. His experience spans a variety of building typologies, including museums, visual and performing arts buildings, academic centers, historic sites and residences. His passion is transforming historic structures, contexts, and cultural landscapes. Each of Craig’s projects is characterized by a skilled approach to materiality, sophisticated façade treatments and a thoughtful approach to placemaking — believing buildings should not only make a bold architectural statement, but also deliver genuine civic value.
As architects, we strive to imbue places with meaning. For me, the best architecture derives from a sense of history and the timeless needs of the present — responding to context, but without rhetoric or eclecticism. Its meaning can be read in its success at embodying our clients’ missions and in its ability to invite connections that both explain and confound.
