Cynthia Walston, FAIA, LEED AP

A nationally recognized leader in laboratory design, Cynthia leads our science + technology practice in Texas. Her deep understanding of healthcare, biomedical research and education architecture makes her an expert in translational health science — buildings designed to bring clinical care, research and education together to accelerate the process of turning research discoveries into patient therapies. Cynthia has served on NIH grant review committees, as well as seven Lab of the Year juries for R&D Magazine. She is a founding member of the American College of Healthcare Architects and speaks regularly at national conferences on the subject of laboratory design and research equipment planning.

Inspired research and instruction demand inspired spaces. Because every lab, science type, and client are unique, I guide end users through a customized planning process to create spaces to streamline workflows, maximize resources and encourage collaboration. My goal for each project is to design long-term solutions that are effective today and flexible tomorrow
