Joshua Barnett, AIA
To me, healthcare projects provide us with some of the most complex and challenging building typologies within the firm’s market sectors. With these challenges comes the ability to bring thoughtful solutions to the healing environment and the utmost rewarding opportunities to make an impact on one’s life – from patient and family member to clinician and caregiver.
Based in the firm’s New York City office, Josh is an integral member of successful project teams and brings valuable experience from a variety of complex healthcare work – ranging from multi-phased interior renovations to system-wide facility master plans. Josh works diligently to understand each client’s unique needs, challenges and business in order to view design possibilities from their perspective. He earns the trust of his clients though his management approach and ability to multi-task while remaining highly organized and detail oriented. As a skilled architect with expertise in the use of BIM software, he facilitates complex documentation to coordinate building, structural and MEP systems – ensuring project efficiency and quality control. Beyond this work, Josh is also deeply engaged in the future of the profession and has represented architects at both the local and national level through his active involvement with the AIA and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
