Our buildings can act as a tool to facilitate that evolution from the conventional ‘take, make, waste’ lifecycle model to a ‘take, make, reuse, repair, recapture’ lifecycle.
Kyle Ritchie is the sustainability leader for our Education Practice, partnering with PK-12, college and university clients to design solutions that act as an investment rather than a cost by driving economic, social and environmental value. As a trained scientist with a deep understanding of high-performance buildings and what it takes to create comprehensive climate and sustainability plans, Kyle is a trusted partner to institutions seeking to not only reduce their negative ecological impact but create a positive one. He leads teams in performing and analyzing energy models, energy audits and feasibility studies, as well as recommending ways to conserve energy, water and carbon while eliminating toxic materials in projects. He’s also an expert on the circular economy model of production and consumption, which is aimed at eliminating waste and the continual use of resources. He has co-authored a book, titled “Circular Economy for Dummies” and regularly speaks on topics related to sustainability and the circular economy.
