Maria Cole, AIA
Maria has more than 25 years’ experience specializing in all phases of planning, design and construction of cultural and institutional facilities. Deeply committed to contributing to the cultural development of Denver, she has served on the Mayor’s Commission of Cultural Affairs and acted as chair for the City and County of Denver’s 1% for art program. Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards, including the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in Fine Arts – Banff Centre residency, the Hobie Wagener Traveling Scholarship, and the Young Architect of the Year award from both the AIA Western Mountain Region and the AIA Denver Chapter. Maria has served as an honorarium instructor at the University of Colorado and recently received a gubernatorial appointment to the Colorado Creative Industries Committee, a division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade.
