Matt Malone is a creative thinker who understands and synthesizes design intent with lab requirements and constructability. He has designed and documented lab and lab-related facilities for over twenty years across typologies and client bases including pharma, higher education, healthcare and federal government work in areas such as research, scale up, production, vivaria and translational research. Matt has partnered with his clients to lead to progressive collaborations, including reimagining the use of an analytical lab, fostering the sharing of a histology lab, and moving forward with a fully mobile lab design. These client partnerships have brought him into typologies beyond the lab, such as conference centers and restaurants, which have in turn enhanced the level of design he brings to all of his work.

Architects aspire to affect society with the buildings and spaces they design. I choose to apply that eye to a typology that can have a broader and more direct impact on that same society. If I can improve day-to-day life of those in research and healthcare, then my work truly achieves what we as architects aspire to.
