Reed Voorhees, AIA

Reed Voorhees’ dedication to sports architecture spans more than two decades of planning and designing sports, recreation and athletic facilities for higher education institutions and communities. He creates valuable facilities that position institutions to best serve students and communities. Reed brings in-depth knowledge in the programmatic, functional and technical aspects of sports architecture, with a focus on the exploration of design innovation and program evolution and a belief that public architecture should be mentally stimulating and emotionally uplifting. Reed has also helped clients achieve national recognition for their facilities as his work consistently earns accolades at the regional, national and international levels. Reed has served as a juror for numerous national and international sport design competitions and regularly speaks at national conferences on topics ranging from sports facility planning, design, trends and technology.

Sports and Recreation architecture is dynamic, evolving, purposeful and technically more complex than most people realize. These facilities provide the backbone for our clients to provide invaluable opportunities for the individuals they serve in the development of life-long habits for healthy living and individual well-being. We should always be challenging ourselves to search for better solutions to the problems at hand as we strive to improve the outcome for our clients and ultimately those for whom these facilities are meant to serve.
