As one of the first steps in its bold, strategic vision, Dayton Children’s Hospital commissioned a facilities master plan and eight-story patient tower that celebrates Dayton’s historical aviation innovations. The 228,000-sf tower, which opened in June 2017, holds a comprehensive cancer and blood disorders center, a critical care complex, a Level II regional newborn intensive care unit and a pediatrics inpatient unit. The lobby and three-story atrium, named the Take Flight Gallery, greets child and adult visitors with an abundance of natural light, bright colors, and areas to relax.
