How impactful has a design solution been for a community? What data should we measure to know the full impact of a newly designed building, space or system? These are just some of the questions Felix helps us answer as our firm’s research director.
Using data and strategic analysis, Felix guides our firmwide research practice as we systematically assess design solutions using performance indicators aligned with Living-Centered Design. Formerly a principal investigator and co-investigator for multiple projects while at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research, Felix is deeply focused on how spatial and social contexts shape important, diverse societal outcomes and processes.
Felix is deeply committed to sociospatial network science as a means to enhance our understanding of the impact and influence of the built environment and social organization on these outcomes and processes. Specifically, his work has examined a range of issues from collaboration, innovation, and team science, to physical activity, entrepreneurship, aging, cognitive function/dementia, and health disparities. His research has been shared at national and international conferences and published in dozens of papers in leading academic journals.
