We were proud to see the breakthrough State Weather Risk Communication Center (SWRCC) located within SUNY Albany's ETEC building profiled by the NBC Today Show.
In the clip, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul walks NBC's Al Roker through the SWRCC and speaks to how the research happening within help the state prepare, act and inform its residents in the face of climate emergencies moving forward.
ETEC is designed as the epicenter of many of SUNY Albany's signature research strengths, including climate science, emergency preparedness and cyber security. Novel spaces in ETEC help unite academia and the business sector, helping translate new knowledge into innovative solutions more rapidly-all in the name of building a more resilient and economically vibrant New York.
ETEC is a LEED Platinum facility programmed and designed with flexibility, shared space and various opportunities for industry collaboration. We are thrilled to see programs like the SWRCC already making impact across New York State and applaud SUNY Albany for their bold vision.
