We are thrilled to share The Ladder Alliance, a nonprofit located in Fort Worth, Texas, that provides survivors of domestic violence and low-income women with the tools to lead self-sufficient, successful and independent lives, officially opened their refreshed Success Store last week.

The Success Store is where graduates of Ladder Alliance programs can shop for professional outfits that help them feel empowered in their next job interview or career. We were able to help The Ladder Alliance redesign their Success Store through Open Hand Studio, our incubator for public-interest design.

The new design transforms the Success Store into much more of a boutique setting. It is brighter, more welcoming, and more empowering for all the women who need it. It brings The Ladder Alliance's vision of the store as a destination where women can feel celebrated and capable to even greater life.

Testimonials

  • This is a crucial need for our students and partner agency clients. When someone is in a rush to leave a dangerous situation in their home, they don't think to grab a blazer or dress shoes. They are just trying to get to a safe place.

The project was also an expansive team effort. We provided design, architectural and construction planning services and then partnered with Christman Facility Solution for time and labor and The Container Store for key organizational products.

"We couldn't be more grateful for the generosity of CannonDesign, Christman Facility Solutions, The Container Store and over 20 other companies who have contributed to make a reality what we once only thought of as a dream," added Kathryn.
